Day 1 on the road -Shuswap Express

Day 1 is in the books and was a big success as we conquered the Coquihalla.  We spent the morning frantically finalizing the truck packing and closing up the condo in Vancouver, trying not to forget anything.  We made it to Bill's house to pick up the Airstream for the final time a little late, but not to bad.  I got to use my new tools, I checked all the lug nuts with my new Torque wrench and adjusted the tire pressure with my new tire pump.  I was very pleased with both tools.  I realized on the first day that I should invest in a TPMS (tire pressure monitor) for the trailer as it's hard to know what's going on and from what I've read they can save a lot of damage if a tire loses pressure.

The truck was a champ as we climbed out of the lower mainland over the mountains and into Kamloops, we hit 2C and just missed snow, from there it was a easy drive to the Shuswaps and our first night in Salmon Arm at Sharon's brother Gary's college friend Daron Mayes driveway.  We had a great visit and enjoyed dinner with Daron and his two youngest sons.

Tomorrow we do our first campground in Lake Louise.  Hoping for good weather and some marshmallows and a photo trip to Moraine Lake for our first National Park experience.
