I was worried we would miss the fall colours by the time we got to Cape Breton...However, we seem to have arrived at peak colours. The trees are all lit up with yellow, orange and red. Amazing!! We talked to a few locals who said that the leaves can all be gone by this time...It gets windy here...yes we found that out today, with easily 80km gusts. We noticed a lot of trees starting to look less full. We are 8 provinces and 4 time zones away from home, we have been to about 10 National Parks. So far Canada 150 has lived up to expectations!
We will be near the ferry to Newfoundland to make it a clean 10 provinces, but looks like we will have to pass, based on the 7hr ferry ride and about $500 each way to pull the Airstream across. Too bad.
We have made it almost as far east as we can go in Canada and will finish up Nova Scotia and then onto PEI, and southbound after that.
