We took the Big Canoe from Mantoulin Island in the north side of Lake Huron to the Bruce Peninsula.  The ferry is called the Chi-Cheemaun which means the Big Canoe in Ojibwe
The motto on the ship is Travel in Good Spirits. We like that motto!!
What a great first ferry ride...BC Ferries didn't Make the cut, over the Owen Sound Transportation  Company.  The ferry takes two hours and crosses the channel between Lake Huron and the Georgian Bay.  Sharon wasn't doing so well when we hit open water, the boat was really rockin and rollin with a 25-30 knot breeze on Lake Huron.
We left Northern Ont and arrived in SWO and it was amazing to see the temp difference, this was the first night in the trip that our furnace didn't kick in.  We sat out at the camp fire without jackets.
We  arrived to a quant town called Tobermory, which was a short drive to the Bruce Peninsula National Park, we hiked to the Grotto, which is a big arch and cave where people swim.  I just missed the best Light, so I got up really early and hiked in with my headlamp to get sunrise photos.  The sunrise wasn't awesome, but the scenery and rock scrambling made up for it.
